Thank you for your interest in the Afghan Libraries Program. Since 2001,the Afghan Libraries Program has established 350 fully-furnished libraries throughout Afghanistan. With your support, we can make the future a brighter place for children of Afghanistan by providing them access to educational supplies and books.

How your money can work:
- $25 Provide a set of books and safe access to them
- $50 Give the gift of one year’s tuition and library access for a girl’s educational experience in a remote area
- $100 Ensure literacy for an Afghan child through two-year reading program
- $350 Provide an entire class of 25 students with access to books and instruction in reading
- $500 Create a School Library with 200 titles benefiting hundreds of people
- $750 Help train three teachers in the Youth empowerment and Leadership Program
- $1,000 Pay for the entire education for one boy and one girl until young adulthood
- $5,000 Sponsor one Internet Learning Center with five computers & 200 books
90% of the school supplies, teachers and raw materials for the creation of these libraries are Afghan based. RI believes in helping the local community grow from our presence on the ground.
The Afghan Libraries Program is a project
of Relief International (RI). RI is a humanitarian non-profit
agency that provides emergency relief, rehabilitation,
and development assistance and program services to vulnerable
communities worldwide. RI focuses on bridging emergency
relief to development through transitional and cross-sectoral
and integrated programs including education, health,
shelter, community development, agriculture, food, income-generation,
and peace & tolerance promotion. RI is solely dedicated
to reducing human suffering and is non-political and
non-sectarian in its mission. RI was established in 1990
and is based in Los Angeles, California, has offices worldwide.
